Get Checking
What is Get Checking?
Get Checking is a national program designed to provide financial education and clear participants' ChexSystems reports, allowing them a second chance to use banking and financial services and establish credit.
Whether you have had problems with an account in the past or have never opened one before, Get Checking offers you the opportunity to establish an account through a process that is safe, convenient, and inexpensive.
Four main topics will be covered at each class, including:
- How the program can help you open an account
- Choosing an account that is right for you
- Managing your checking account
- Keys to successful money management and credit
Before opening a new account, you will be required to pay any outstanding fines from any prior accounts.
Once full restitution has been paid as well as completion of the Get Checking class and exam, you will receive a
Certificate of Completion. To open an account, take your Certificate and all proper identification to a
participating financial institution.
