Welcome!

SNAP's Economic Development team works with individuals of low-to-moderate income who are ready to work towards permanent economic change and growth. Our programs are available to eligible residents living within Spokane County.

Microenterprise

Professional training, consulting services and business loans are available to those interested in starting or expanding a business.

Financial Services

Through training and individual counseling, participants can reestablish a healthy banking relationship, repair poor credit and learn effective financial management skills. Participants may also be eligible for SNAP's car loan and emergency loan programs.

Individual Development Accounts

A matched savings program designed for those looking to start a business, purchase a home or complete higher education goals.

Get Checking

This program is intended for people who are unable to get a checking account. Program requirements involve attending a financial skills class and paying off any existing banking debt. Banking privileges will be earned over time as participants progress through the program.

The Family of SNAP Services
We understand that many times there is more to the story than just starting a business or opening a bank account. That's why we listen carefully for how our other SNAP services might support your goals.

Since 1966, SNAP has helped homeless and low-income families, children and seniors. As a private, non-profit Community Action Agency, SNAP's goal is to help families and individuals transition from crisis to self-sufficiency, building new and healthy futures. SNAP's services include energy assistance, housing opportunities, mortgage assistance, and emergency services.
