Microenterprise Business Development
Training
Our intensive program covers the key parts of running a business and determining if a business idea will work. Topics include self-evaluation, pricing, financial analysis, marketing, and bookkeeping. Participants are given assignments to help them research their business and guide them through developing their own business plans. Classes are held in various locations throughout the year and meet weekly in the evenings. See calender for schedule. Pre-application required. Application can be downloaded at the bottom of the page.
Business Counseling
SNAP's professionals provide one-on-one guidance as you develop your idea, research information and put together your business plan. We can provide helpful referrals to outside resources, mentors and student assistants. We also continue to advise you during the early years.
Financial Assistance
You can apply for a small business loan (in amounts ranging from $500-$50,000) to help with start up costs or expansion through SNAP's Microenterprise Program and its partners. We also offer Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) which help you save and even provide matching funds for your business.
Business Classes and Workshops
We offer a five week business planning class that covers the entire business planning process. Please call to register or for the next class times. We also have several workshops on various business topics throughout the year.
